I just pinned the larger scarf and am wearing it like a baggy cardigan/throw thing. Then I used the darker brown scarf to keep the neck warm or whatever. Easy to do and you could seriously buy a large piece of fabric in your favorite color/pattern and do this with a safety pin. Fun, cheap, and…fun!

Thinking about wearing this Forever 21 shirt ($21.95 women’s) I bought in the ladies section tomorrow, but that’s besides the point.
I haven’t been able to sleep all weekend, and I’ve decided to blog about it because quite frankly, writing it out helps me organize my thoughts and the idea of not sleeping at all tonight before classes tomorrow seems completely wretched, so here we go.
After everything last week (if you wanna know, go read) I’ve been feeling like a whiney bitch, so Friday I said to myself “Have a great weekend. Go to the bar. Hang with friends. Forget about life and school and live for a bit.” But before all this, I wanted to figure out funding for my textbooks. Last year they sent me $500 flat and said go buy’em. This year, they said they need an official invoice with all my textbooks listed so they can pay the university directly and I can just pick them up. Okay, no big deal, EXCEPT NO ONE ON CAMPUS KNOWS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT WHEN I TRY TO EXPLAIN THIS. So I get fed up Friday afternoon and call my funding office, oh wait, they’re closed. So I take a deep breath and say to myself “Deal with it Monday, this is your weekend.”
I have a beer at a friends Friday night then go home to sleep. I wake up to a couple lovely texts from my father. “Hey.” “Hellllllooo?” “Are you there?”. I finally reply explaining that I was up late and sleeping in.
“Oh, well I got a letter from the funding office, read it.”
He sends me a picture.
Dear Mr. Ward,
I am writing to inform you that because you are not a Driftpile Cree Nation Band member we will no longer able to provide you with funding. Apparently there was a mix up when you applied and it was only found recently. The funding we receive from the federal government for post secondary education is The funding agency that you should have been referred to is called Free Horse Family Wellness their toll free # is 1 800 411 ——- or 780 944 ——-. You can call me at 780 355——- if you have any questions

I have never freaked out more in my entire life. One because they didn’t even take the time to grammatically check it. Literally, word for word and letter for letter this is what the WRITTEN MAILED LETTER READS. It isn’t even proper english.
Two. I have official government ID that tells this person otherwise, along with the fact that I lived on the reservation for the first two years of my life.
Three. Family. Politics. The single worst thing about reserves. You’re only in if they family in power says your in. I’m the most nervous about this because it’s totally possible, and if so I’m screwed.
Here’s the fun part. What happens if my funding is cancelled?
I could apply to Free Horse for funding, but it’s not as much, and I wouldn’t get looked at until January, which means I’d have to drop out and re-register for all my courses, leaving me, more than likely, with nothing I chose in the first place. I could get a student loan and be in debt for the rest of my life getting a degree that probably won’t get me a job anyways. If I don’t get funded, I guess I’d see myself working full time until Christmas giving my roommate time to find someone else while I pay rent, then go home for Christmas until I can figure out school.
Guys, it’s one of those situations where you feel like everything could work out, but your nerves have got the best of you. And now when I’m not thinking about how I’ll need to drop out, I’m worried about dying in a freaking earthquake. My paranoia levels are way outta whack and I’m so stressed I can’t sleep.
This could possibly be the longest blog post ever. Sorry for filling your dashboard.

So this is a really big thing for me, because although these pants are a slim-fit, they are by all means not skinny jeans, which is all I have worn since grade 8. I feel like a grown up, but not really.
