The hard work of decolonization, for the settler, is getting comfortable with the silence of mutual autonomy.

This is written by my powerful and profoundly wise professor Dr. Dory Nason. From day one of my degree in First Nations Studies, she has been an inspiration to me as a student, as a Native woman student, and a budding scholar who is trying to take on a white, male, academy. I cannot even begin to express the gifts Dory has given to me as a teacher, and I am continually honoured and inspirited to be her student. Her Indigenous feminisms class has opened my mind and heart to so many things that I will forever be grateful. I can’t read this right now, because I’ll cry. But when I’m done with papers and the like, I’ll read it. Until then, I highly recommend you read her wonderful words.
I’d write about how much I love Dr. Nason, but my friend has done such a good job already I’ll just leave this here.
We don’t talk anymore and you don’t seem to care.
